Preface

To me an untrained observer, science as practised today, seems to do an excellent job of studying effect; describing, explaining the behaviour and even predicting effect. For example, how gravity works, and the strange behaviour of subatomic particles: but does little to explain the cause. This is because the scientific method used by scientists is very good at verifying and explaining the effect on the natural world but does little to explain on causes of the effect. Instead science seems to explain everything in the universes and all the movement that occurs within as being caused by some mythical substance called energy. The only problem is no scientist has ever detected or measures energy. They only claim to have seen its effect through movement of some kind. We as humankind (including science) only observe effect by observing movement. In fact, we can only observe movement, even the things we don’t think of as moving like heat, colour, sound, odour, and even shape, are just movement of molecules, atoms or subatomic particles. And of course, ultimately, we get all our information (observation) from the movement of electric signals in our nerves system causing movement in our brain. Surely if movement and the information that it produces, is so important to our model of reality; they must both be fundamental to it. Therefore, if movement can create (or be, cause by) information, surely information can create apparent movement. I will explain why I use the term ‘apparent movement’ rather than actual movement in the essay.

In this essay I am trying show that our reality is based solely on information, and the information we base reality upon is intellectualised. In other words, changed by our brains from the pure information that our senses receive, into something our minds can recognise and I look carefully at the implications of this process for understanding our world

As the author of the essay I am in a unique position of knowing that those hopefully who might read this essay, will be much more learned than I; and will easily find horrible flaws in what I am saying. I am quite prepared for that. I feel like the little boy in the fairy tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes”  whom is the only one who can see the Emperor strutting around in his underpants. While others cleverer and more learned than I, seem to see him in fine clothes.  All I ask is that you let me know in logical and very simple terms, that a little boy can understand. Why the Emperor has his clothes on. Please, please, leave me any corrections and comments in the box provided.

P.S. If I have caused you to think or even stimulated debate, then I have achieved my goal.
